Savory Spiced Nuts

A savory nut mix with a little bit of a spicy kick.

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups nuts Pecans, almonds, or a mixture work well
  • 1/3 Cup butter
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons Kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard powder
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon hot sauce If you're averse to heat, stick with 1/2 teaspoon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300°F. Cover a large sheet pan with parchment paper or a silpat mat.
  • In a microwave safe bowl, melt the butter. (I do 20 second bursts in the microwave, stirring until the butter is completely melted.) Add everything except the nuts and stir until mixed. Add the nuts and stir until all the nuts are coated.
  • Arrange the nuts on the prepared pan. Bake for 10 minutes, stir and then bake another 10-12 minutes until toasted and lightly browned.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool, stirring a few times to pick up some of the seasonings left on the parchment or silpat mat. Once cooled, store in an airtight container or ziplock bag.
